Building on the rich foundations of the Kindergarten, in Year 1 lessons become more formal in their structure, but there is still exploration, discovery and fun in a supportive and engaging environment. The core subjects such as literacy and numeracy are taught daily, in order to successfully embed and consolidated those key strands.

In addition to providing basic education which is a foundation for each student in later study, KIS will also develop students’ critical and creative thinking, clear expression, and a lifelong love of learning. KIS has a curriculum which fosters the intellectual, aesthetic, physical, and spiritual development of students and incorporates technology as an essential tool for learning. There is also a wide range of activities which complements the academic program and increases opportunities for competition, collaboration, and leadership.
